Champions League: registration process for season 2008/09  

The preparations for the 2008/09 Men’s and Women’s EHF Champions League season are well underway.

The clubs have received a provisional document from the EHF. This official communication contains a provisional list of participating teams, draw information and Champions League schedule for the upcoming season.

In the current phase, the clubs are expected to officially register.

After the clubs have communicated their intentions for the 2008/09 EHF Champions League season, it will be up to the EHF to evaluate the individual situation of the clubs and their eligibility for the competition.

Any decision regarding further Champions League places will be announced by the EHF by the end of June.

Group Phase draw

The 2008/2009 Men’s and Women’s Champions League Group Phase draw will take place during the course of the 2008 Women’s 18 European Open and the Partille Cup, the world’s largest youth handball tournament.

The official draw event will be carried out on 4 July 2008 at 18:30 hrs in the Scandinavium Arena of Gothenburg, Sweden. The draw for the qualification phase will take place on 1 July (11:00) in Vienna.
