As the EHF reported earlier, EHF Champions League starting place conditions were checked for the following clubs: FC Kopenhagen Haandbold (DEN) and HC Dinamo Volgograd (RUS).

As the conditions were fulfilled, both clubs gained a starting place in the 2008/2009 Women’s EHF Champions League. Both clubs will enter in round 2 of the qualification.

Men's CL

As has been previously reported, the club of Portland San Antonio has already been awarded a place as a Spanish club won the 2007/2008 title.

A place has become available in the qualification phase as the league winner from the Czech Republic (Karvina) will not enter. This place has been awarded to the Rhein Neckar Löwen of Germany.
