Matosevic now in Copenhagen

Former Croatian national team goalkeeper Valter Matosevic, who has played in a number of European top clubs already, is now by Danish champions FC København Håndbold. 38 year old Matosevic, who is joining on a free transfer from Spanish Champions League Portland San Antonio, has signed a one year contract with the Danish CL debutants.
“I am really looking forward to this new challenge. I feel that FCK is a young club with a lot of ambition. Furthermore, I am looking forward to working with Magnus Andersson (FCK’s head coach and former Swedish international, ed.) whom I have met in many international top matches in the past”, said Valter Matosevic about his latest change of club.
Lot of experience
“I feel I can contribute a lot with my experience, and I am still in fine physical shape. Furthermore, I am really looking forward to playing in the Champions League again”, added Matosevic, who represented Croatia 190 times, before deciding to end his national team career earlier this year.
After signing Matosevic, FCK have two highly experienced goalkeepers on a high international level, as they already have Norwegian national team keeper Steinar Ege in their squad.
In the EHF Champions League group stage FCK are going to meet HSV Hamburg, Slovakian champions Tatran Presov and the winner of the qualification tie between Italian Italgast Casarano and Serbian Red Star Beograd.
